Privacy notice

MKN Maschinenfabrik Kurt Neubauer GmbH & Co. KG (Halberstädter Straße 2a, 38300 Wolfenbüttel, Germany, phone: +49 5331 89-0, fax: +49 5331 89-280, e-mail: infowhatever@mkn.de, website: www.mkn.com) is the supplier of the "MKNConnect" app. This privacy policy informs you about data processing in the framework of using the above-mentioned app.

Authorizations

The app requires the following authorizations:

• Camera authorization
  • Reason: Scanning a QR code to register the devices
• Wireless network
  • Reason: To set up the devices
• Location data
  • Reason: One-time transmission of the device location during set-up

Contact form

If you would like to contact us, you can use the contact form on our website at Service & support (mkn.com). You will find a link to the corresponding site in the app. Details on how your personal information is processed when you use the contact form can be found in the privacy notice at Privacy notice (mkn.com). 

Inquiry via e-mail, phone or fax

If you contact us by e-mail, phone or fax, we will store and process your inquiry including all personal information resulting from it (e.g. name, type of inquiry) for the purpose of processing your inquiry. We will not disclose this information without your permission.

This personal information is processed on the basis of Art. 6 (1) lit. b GDPR, to the extent that your inquiry is related to the fulfillment of a contract or is necessary to implement precontractual measures. In all other cases, the processing is based on our legitimate interest in the effective processing of inquiries directed to us (Art. 6 (1) lit f GDPR) or on your consent (Art. 6 (1) lit. a GDPR) if this has been requested.

Recipient of the data

Data collection by the App Store / Play Store: When you download the app, the necessary information is transmitted to the App Store; this includes, in particular, your user name, e-mail address and customer number of your account, time of the download, payment information and the individual device code. We have no influence on this data collection and are not responsible for it. We only process the data to the extent that it is necessary to download the mobile app to your mobile device

Cookies and analysis software

The app does not set any cookies on your device. If you have given your consent upon starting the app, technical data of your device (version, operating system) as well as information on the app which has been provided to us by Sentry Functional Software Inc. (version, screen information, app.device, browser, browser.name, device, device.class, device.family, environment, event.environment, event.origin, handled, http-plugin.url, httpPlugin.url, installerStore, isSideLoaded, level, logger, mechanism, os, os.name, os.rooted, dist, release, user (ID issued by Sentry for one season), transaction, url) is transmitted to us for analysis purposes in the case of technical faults. In these cases, we also internally assign an identification number to your device in order to allocate these technical faults to individual devices if they occur frequently. We do not receive any access to your device or any other data on your device through this process. With the exception of the above-mentioned data, no data, in particular no personal data, is transmitted to us. You can revoke your consent to the transmission of analysis data at any time in the app settings. Our analysis software and any technical data that you have transmitted to us are stored in an American cloud that is commissioned by Sentry. Technical data that you have transmitted with your consent is stored for 90 days after completion of the analysis and then deleted.  

Data security

In order to protect the data provided by you against unauthorised access and misuse by third parties, we have taken far-reaching technical and organisational security measures. These measures meet the high statutory requirements of national regulations and are constantly being adapted to the current, state-of-the-art technology.

Data subject rights

As a data subject, you have the following rights in principle in accordance with Art. 15 to 22 of the GDPR:

•              Right to information,

•              Right to rectification or deletion of data,

•              Right to restriction on processing of data,

•              Right of objection to processing,

•              Right to transferability of data.

If you have given us your consent, you can revoke this at any time in the app settings. 

Should you wish, it is also possible for you to complain to a data protection supervisory authority about our processing of your personal data. Agreement to, current status of, changes to the data protection declaration

The privacy notice is dated 30/06/2024 and is currently valid. Due to the continued further development of our app or the implementation of new technology, it may be necessary on occasions to adapt this data protection declaration to an updated version. MKN Maschinenfabrik Kurt Neubauer GmbH & Co. KG therefore reserves the right to change the privacy policy at any time and with any impact on the future.
